This concert held in Skenoo Hall, Gandaria City, South Jakarta in February 19, 2014. I've read some reviews and a bit disappointed due to lack of details and missing facts. I know it's a little too late, but I'll try to write down my own review, as a massive fan of Michael Learns to Rock.
Some media might say that this is MLTR third concert in Indonesia. Oops. Big mistake. This is the fifth. The first was in 1995, the second one in 1997, then 2005, 2012 and the latest one was in this year 2014.
Gate opened at 7 pm, and Billy Simpson as the opening act played some songs at 8 pm. By that time MLTR updated on instagram account that they would be on stage at 8.30 sharply. And they did.
The crowds got crazy when the drummer Kaare Wanscher appeared at the back, followed by Jascha Richter (vocal, keyboard), Mikkel Lentz (guitar), and Mikkel Risum (bass).
The first song played was Sleeping Child. Background screen showed beautiful night scene, bringing back childhood memory. The next songs were Breaking My Heart, Love Will Never Lie, and... Well you can check out the song list
here.
A very special moment happened when the band played I'm Gonna Be Around. Jascha and Mikkel were really around us. Surprisingly Jascha held a flower bouquet....and he was about to throw it! Felt like a wedding ceremony.. hahaa... The best part of it is that there was no barricades in front of the stage, makes it a very intimate concert.
Jascha, Mikkel and Kaare interacted very well with the audience. Mikkel ran down the stage couple times, gave the audience taking pics with him. Yet, the show ran smoothly. A credit must be given to the band and the audience, since there wasn't any incidence happened.
Counted 23 songs played within this show... Two songs were taken from the latest album Scandinavia.
As the band played That's Why, we thought, this is it. We came to the end of the show. Could you imagine how surprised we were when Scandinavia was suddenly played.
In this concert, the band didn't play cover songs. It was 100% a night with MLTR....
...you made us wonderful...
